The Days in Calm

Forward I am and I am walking straight
Down to the tunnel to meet the sky…
But the slippery path understands my psyche
And rolls more on both sides…

These silent days, stronger than the storm they are
Engulfing my years like seconds in hand
Too real, but perfectly unsatisfied
And the outside air leaks in to my mind

Watching the smoke rise above the sins
And the plain, pure leftovers knock the door
But the walk alone headed to the tunnel…
Will be a walk alone till the time

As echoes of laughter glide beneath the smile
And find the person it served so long
This war segues to an era
As the brain forgets all the previous songs

The torn flag now shuffles among the yore
And watches how the living one leaves
Standing tall, it discovers too late, too sure
A life lives in alternatives
