Lost Innocence

As I stare into the cold, blank wall.
I can still see the twins that stood so tall.
There they stood with grace and might.
Displaying to the world of our strengths and sites.
Then on the sunny day of September eleventh.
The terrorists committed a crime to appease their heaven.
The twins that stood so proud in the light.
Were burned with fire through the planes in flight.
The flames engulfed all within.
The fire spread throughout the city, killing the unknowing citizens.
Running fast from debris and smoke.
People lying in the dust trying not to choke.
The fire creates blood and tears.
Our citizens and our youth try adjusting to this new fear.
Innocence lost and patriotism gained.
Our nation will defeat this terror created by the insane.
United we stand.
Peace for all.
The entity of terror will not make us fall.
As I stare into the cold, blank wall.
I can still see the twins that stood so tall.
